My Clay Experience:

I've always had a deep love for the handmade tradition, as I come from a long line of woodworkers, seamstresses, and painters, but after taking ceramics in my sophomore year of college, I knew I had found my medium.  I graduated with a degree in Ceramics from Union University in 2008.  Shortly thereafter I moved back to the Nasvhille area, and I am currently pusuing a career as a studio potter as well as working and teaching pottery classes at MidSouth Ceramics in Nashville.  I feel blessed to have my daily work be a work that I love to explore so much.

Come visit my studio at the Clay Lady Co-Op and Galleries I am a part of at 1416 Lebanon Pk., Nashville, TN to see my work and the work of my fellow potters in person!

General Info About the Pots:

- I mostly work with a cone 6, oxidation fired red/brown stoneware, but on occasion work with porcelain.  If you'd like a custom piece, feel free to contact me.

- The glazes on all of my pots are food-safe, and I glaze all of the surfaces that food or utensils will touch.

- All of the pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe.

- Teapots cannot go on the eye of the stove.  It is best to pre-warm your teapot with warm water before pouring boiling water into it.

- Some pieces such as cake stands and teapots may have parts that are hollow on the inside, but they do have a slight hole pierced in them (this is needed so they don't explode when they are fired in the kiln), so I recommend hand- washing them so that water won't collect inside.  If water does get inside, it's no big deal, just prop it so the water drains out.

- These pots are pretty sturdy, but as with most dishes, if it hits against a hard surface, it may chip or break.
